The Town of Pleasant Springs is fortunate to have an abundance of water resources and environmental areas. The eastern half of Lake Kegonsa, the southernmost of the Yahara chain of lakes, provides many recreational opportunities and is the site of both Lake Kegonsa State Park and LaFollette County Park. Door Creek Wildlife Area, a large wetland complex, extends north of Lake Kegonsa along Door Creek. Flowing out of the Lake Kegonsa to the southeast is the continuation of the Yahara river, with additional connected tributaries and wetlands. Both of these areas provide numerous additional recreational opportunities and environmental benefits. All of these natural assets are important contributors to the quality of life of residents and visitors. |
